Article IV. FIRE PROTECTION SERVICE CHARGE FOR GOVERNMENT PROPERTY |
§ 11-16. General authority.
(a)
The town council is hereby authorized to impose a fire protection service charge on all government property to fund all or any portion of the fire protection assessment cost for government property, at a fair, just, reasonable and equitable rate based upon such property's historical demand and reasonable cost of making available and providing fire rescue services. However, the town council may impose the fire protection service charge only in fiscal years during which a fire protection assessment is collected against non-government property.
(b)
The rate of the fire protection service charge will be determined as set forth in the non-ad valorem assessment roll resolution prepared pursuant to section 11-5.
