§ 8-81. Definitions.

  • (a)

    The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Alcoholic beverage, as defined by the laws of the state, means and is hereby adopted as the definition of alcoholic beverages as herein employed.

    Restaurant means an establishment having a seating capacity of over 15 or more persons, having utensils, food and accouterments immediately available for service to 25 or more persons and which derives more that 51 percent of its revenue from sale of food served for consumption on premises. These establishments shall have no live entertainment, amusement, recreational or sporting equipment.

    School means any public, private or parochial institution conducting and offering to minors a course of general or vocational education and mental training.

    (b)

    Other words, terms and phrases when used in this article, shall have meanings ascribed to them in F.S. § 561.001 et seq., except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning.
