  • (a)

    Purpose and intent. It is the purpose of this division to provide standards necessary to protect the habitants of species, both flora and fauna, of endangered, threatened or special concern status in the town. It is the intent of this division to require that an appropriate amount of land shall be set aside to protect habitat for rare, endangered or special concern plant and animal species. No net loss of habitat shall result of development.

    (b)

    Applicability. Areas subject to the standards of this division shall be those identified in the conservation element of the town comprehensive plan as habitat for rare and endangered species, threatened species or species of special concern.
