§ 28-83. Liens.

  • All fees, charges and penalties for nonpayment, together with lawful interest thereof, plus costs of collection including attorney's fees, provided for in this article shall be and are hereby declared a lien upon the property for which service is provided. Such lien shall be on a parity with the lien of state, county and municipal taxes, but shall be prior and superior to all other liens on such lands and premises. Such lien, including penalties, interest and costs shall be recorded in the public records of the county. The town shall have the power and authority to enforce the liens by foreclosure in accordance with laws of the state for the foreclosure of mortgages on real property.
