§ 6-2. Administration and enforcement of building regulations.

  • (a)

    The town has the duty and responsibility to administer and enforce the applicable ordinances, laws, rules, and regulations governing building permits and the construction, repair, remodeling and moving of structures within the town.

    (b)

    The town shall provide all services as may be necessary or required for the enforcement and administration of the regulation of the design, building construction, erection, alteration, modification, repair, remodeling, demolition or moving of structures of any type within the town. The town may provide such services through a contract with the following:

    (1)

    The county;

    (2)

    Another local government agency; or

    (3)

    A private company to administer and enforce its building regulations.
