§ 8-32. State approval for certain businesses.

  • Every business which deals in any way or manner with food, beverages, confections, or any other substance reasonably intended for human consumption shall, as a prerequisite to the issuance of a receipt under the provisions of this article, display at the time of application for such receipt the written approval of the state department of agriculture and consumer services or the division of hotels and restaurants of the state department of business regulation. However, this provision shall not apply to any such business where those agencies have no jurisdiction under state law or decline to accept jurisdiction or to make an inspection and give written approval.
